17 Injured As High Winds Fuel 9-Alarm Fire in Boston
A massive 9-alarm fire continues to burn an apartment building in Boston this afternoon as firefighters battle high winds and low humidity to extinguish the flames. Boston.com reports that 10 people, including several firefighters, have been transported to the hospital so far.
UPDATE: "Boston EMS has now transported a total of 17 patients from the Beacon Street Fire. This is still an active incident," according to Boston_EMS on Twitter.
NECN says that Boston Police are calling the fire "a crime scene."
Winds at the nearby Boston Logan International Airport have gusted as high as 54 MPH this afternoon.
