Astronaut Koichi Wakata took this photo of New York City from the International Space Station today, taking advantage of clear skies before the rain moves in tomorrow. While this picture of NYC is pretty cool, it doesn't come close to the other breathtaking views Wakata has shared from 230 miles up.

Wakata's Twitter stream is full of gorgeous pictures he's taken from the ISS since arriving at the orbital outpost last November. Weather satellites can provide a spectacular view of our atmosphere from space, but as Chris Hadfield popularized last year, astronauts get a front-row seat to the best views in the world.
