Shopping Center Destroyed in Alabama after Possible Tornado
A powerful line of severe thunderstorms swept across the northern Gulf Coast this morning, producing at least one suspected tornado in Atmore, Alabama that damaged and destroyed numerous buildings, including the shopping center pictured above.
In addition to damaging winds and at least one suspected tornado, the storms also produced torrential rains that led to flash flood warnings across the area. According to the University of South Alabama's mesonet, Atmore received almost 2.00" of rain in less than an hour's time.
