The federal government dropped charges against an accused National Weather Service hydrologist last week, five months after she was arrested and charged with illegally accessing and downloading restricted information about the country's dams.

The FBI released a statement this afternoon announcing that its agents arrested a National Weather Service employee in Wilmington, Ohio today after she was indicted for "allegedly downloading restricted files" from government servers.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is in hot water with the FBI after an investigative report by NBC News uncovered hundreds of instances where FEMA workers assigned a lower flood risk to high-risk properties, allowing the owners to save "as much as 97 percent" on their flood insurance premiums.
