The National Weather Service is among the best and most trusted forecasting outlets in the United States, but sometimes their limitations cause them to screw up. Today is one of those times. This afternoon's snowfall map is ridiculous and physically impossible, and they need to fix this issue in order to stay on top.

As part of a nationwide campaign to ready coastal residents for the possibility of a tsunami on American shores, the National Weather Service included areas along the Gulf Coast in the week's readiness activities.

For one glorious moment this afternoon and for the first time in what seems like forever, the National Weather Service's nationwide watches/warnings/advisories map was virtually clear of any major watches, warnings, or advisories.
