Here's a look at Hurricane Edouard as it churns out in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, the basin's first major hurricane since Sandy in 2012. It will safely curve away from Bermuda and impact the Azores as a post-tropical depression with some gusty winds and heavy rain later this week.

This swirling mass of clouds off the coast of South Carolina this afternoon is the remnants of a system that just wouldn't quit — it's traveled almost 2,000 miles from Colorado to the Atlantic Ocean over the past two days, leaving a path of damage, injuries, and two fatalities in its wake.

At 2:40PM MDT, an intense, tornado-warned supercell was approaching Denver International Airport with tennis ball size hail. It's absolutely phenomenal looking on radar, with a textbook shape and wind pattern. A confirmed tornado was spotted near Watkins, CO at 2:51PM MDT.

The satellite and radar images coming out of Tuesday's severe weather is approaching "map porn" caliber for weather geeks. The top of this post features a high-resolution satellite image of the central United States, showing severe thunderstorms over Iowa and Illinois, as well as a stubborn and intense supercell near Denver, Colorado.

CTV Toronto caught this awesome picture of a shelf cloud as it moved over the city's skyline this evening. Severe thunderstorms swept across parts of southeastern Michigan and southern Ontario today, producing dozens of reports of wind damage.

A wavy weather pattern across the United States is making for quite the sight on satellite imagery today. This water vapor image, which depicts moisture in the mid-levels of the atmosphere (cooler colors = more moisture), shows moisture wrapping around a low pressure system centered over Iowa.

Storm Chasers Caught More Incredible Pics of Supercells This Weekend

Severe thunderstorms in parts of Texas and Oklahoma this weekend created another opportunity for some great shots by some lucky storm chasers. The supercells were mostly prolific hail producers, whiting out the ground in El Paso, Texas and producing stones up to the size of baseballs in Childress, Texas, located near the extreme southwestern corner of Oklahoma.
