Interesting that he mentions advocating TV meteorologists to get comfortable with dual pol products and use them. Here that is not an issue, our local TV folks are very good with this, granted we see more tornadoes than NY.

Not that it excuses this in any way, but the folks at NWS Binghamton are a great bunch of people. They are very good at public outreach and very active on social media, always willing to answer any question presented to them. Hopefully they can take this storm and learn from it to be better prepared to issue sufficient warnings next time, and I am thankful nobody got hurt (that same storm took out my power awhile after, but I guess that going a few hours without internet doesn't technically count as an injury).

Same thing about .5 miles south of my old apartment and first warning since I moved out of my old place into a new place... nothing like a trailer park in a tornado warning. Luckily while fantasy football draft starting and half of the draft were fellow former meteorology majors so was well informed. Of all places in Mass again this time.
