A short clip from a local television news station in Memphis went viral yesterday after a visibly upset woman shouted into the microphone that this was the fifth time "this motherfucker" has flooded. Later that afternoon, that same station allowed her more airtime to tell her full story.

This week is the historical peak of the Atlantic Hurricane Season, and on cue this morning saw the formation of the basin's sixth tropical depression. The system is expected to slowly strengthen into Tropical Storm and eventually Hurricane Edouard over the next few days.

The Memphis area is under a flash flood emergency this morning as storms have produced five to seven inches of rain in a short period of time. A homeowner impacted by the flooding interrupted a reporter on live television to tell her just how many times this motherfucker has flooded.

One of the great side effects of millions of Russians using dashcams is that it provides us with insane videos pretty regularly. Most of the videos of the Chelyabinsk meteor were caught by dashcams, and now we have this incredible video of a tornado destroying a neighborhood.

We often see animated satellite images of storms over the Atlantic that show us 12- or 24-hour loops, but how about a satellite loop that lasts 2,150 hours? An ambitious YouTuber created this awesome time lapse video showing four months of storms over the western Pacific in just two minutes.

After a long period without any severe weather, the atmosphere appears primed for a potentially dangerous severe weather outbreak tomorrow across areas from Kansas to Minnesota. Some areas could see tornadoes, baseball-size hail, and winds in excess of 75 MPH.

Female meteorologists, much like women in every other profession and walk of life, have to put up with a lot of crap from sexist men who think they can do or say whatever they please without repercussions. One guy who got lippy with ABC News meteorologist Ginger Zee this morning got what he deserved.

One of the nicest things about summer is a nearby afternoon thunderstorm. The storm bubbles up on the horizon and a few minutes later you get a nice gust of cool, refreshing wind. This gust of wind is called an "outflow boundary," and it's one of the most interesting weather phenomena there is.

Nine years ago today, the National Weather Service in New Orleans issued a sternly-worded statement to people in the path of Hurricane Katrina known as "The Bulletin." Its sharp language left little doubt Katrina was going to be the storm to beat all storms, and that residents in its path were in mortal danger.
